Fredericksburg is located in the hills of Texas and is a wine country intended for agritourism and wine tasting. Here, too, the location of the place in the hills of Texas is attributed to a mild climate, which is a magnet for retirees looking for a retirement destination.

I also strongly recommend a visit to the Gulf Coast and a trip to Midland before you head to Fredericksburg. Take the glass walled elevator up where you can see San Antonio and the Hill Country to the northwest. There is even an oversized hose to propel you down the Frio River in Garner State Park!
